The annual weeklong webinar series features faculty and members of the Office of Distance Learning Instructional Support Team, all sharing new emerging techniques, strategies, and skills for engaging students on campus and online.
Faculty presenters this year will discuss AI, exploring ethical usage and skill-building potential. Members of the Instructional Support Team will also present best practices for improving course content accessibility.
Sessions are open to all University faculty and will be held via Zoom. one or all of the week’s webinars to engage with presenters and other attendees. Recordings will be available at the end of the series.

Practical Strategies for Building Soft Skills in the Age of AI
Presenter: Dr. Latasha Holt, Educational Curriculum & Instruction, and Dr. Sherry Krayesky-Self, Student Center for Research, Creativity, and Scholarship (SCRCS)
Learn how higher education faculty can leverage AI tools to intentionally support the development of communication, collaboration, and critical thinking skills. Participants will leave with practical, ethical strategies to help students use AI in ways that enhance, rather than replace, essential human skills in today’s AI-enhanced learning environments.

This presentation is based on six faculty‑led innovation projects that demonstrate how AI can elevate — not replace — critical thinking, analysis, and scholarly inquiry across disciplines. Participants will learn practical, ethical, and transformative strategies that empower students to research more effectively, reason more deeply, and thrive in an AI‑driven academic world.
