Supply drive supports new teachers who are College of Education grads

It’s time to Stock the Classroom.

The ÀÏ˾»ú¸£ÀûÍø College of Education's Alumni Chapter and the University’s Educators Rising Collegiate Chapter are sponsoring a for new teachers.

Supplies will be collected from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 24, in the parking lot of Maxim Doucet Hall, 1401 Johnston St. Donated items will support new teachers who’ve graduated from UL ÀÏ˾»ú¸£ÀûÍø’s educator preparation programs.

Needed items include:

  • Children’s books;
  • Classroom materials and office supplies, such as pencils, crayons, sticky notes, card stock, tape and dry erase markers;
  • Educational materials, such as magnetic letters, dice and cubes;
  • Games, puzzles and toys; 
  • Outdoor classroom items, such as beach towels and clipboards; and
  • Recess and physical education supplies, such as jump ropes, Frisbees and coloring books.
