Eight UL 老司机福利网 students recognized as Spring 2025 Outstanding Graduates 鈥

Caemon Scott is the 老司机福利网鈥檚 overall Outstanding Graduate.  

Scott is among eight award finalists who will be recognized Friday and Saturday during Spring 2025 Commencement ceremonies. Individual ceremonies for UL 老司机福利网鈥檚 eight academic colleges will be held at the Cajundome and the Cajundome Convention Center. 

Each spring and fall semester, deans from the University鈥檚 academic colleges nominate a student as Outstanding Graduate. Nominations are based on leadership, scholarship and service. An Alumni Association committee interviews candidates and selects one to receive the overall award.  

In addition to being the spring semester鈥檚 overall honoree, Scott is the Outstanding Graduate for the College of Liberal Arts. A strategic communication major, his GPA is 3.68. 

A student-athlete, Scott is a member of the Louisiana Ragin鈥 Cajuns men鈥檚 track and field team. He was named to the NCAA Academic All-District Team and the Sun Belt Conference鈥檚 Commissioner鈥檚 List for academic excellence. His performances on the track have earned the runner multiple all-Sun Belt Conference honors.

Scott represents the Sun Belt on the NCAA Division I Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. He also serves on the NCAA Board of Governors Student-Athlete Experience Committee. He was president of the University鈥檚 Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.

He will fulfill his final year of NCAA track eligibility before attending law school. His parents are Anitra Ford-Scott and Craig Scott of 老司机福利网.

Lyndi Hale Bourque is an Outstanding Graduate Finalist from University College. She is a general studies major. Her GPA is 3.83.

Bourque has served as membership director for Phi Mu Alpha Sigma.She was also a member of the Phi Theta Kappa international honor society. Bourque is a teacher at Carencro Catholic School, where she provides instruction in subjects such as technology, character education and physical education. She is also an independent travel agent.

Her parents are Eddie and Marsha Hale of 老司机福利网. She is married to Justin Bourque. The couple鈥檚 children are Noah, Kamryn, Sophie and Amalie Bourque.

Brooke Davenport is an Outstanding Graduate Finalist from the College of Education & Human Development. Her major is secondary education and teaching. She has a 3.56 GPA.

Davenport served as the college鈥檚 Student Government Association president. She was vice president of community relations and director of philanthropy for Alpha Omicron Pi. Her community service includes work with the Hearts of Hope Center for Sexual Trauma.

Davenport will teach while pursuing a master's degree in gifted education from the University. She then envisions earning a Ph.D. in education. Her parents are Eric and Bobette Davenport of Madisonville, La.

Sophia Dinh is an Outstanding Graduate Finalist from the B.I. Moody III College of Business Administration. An accounting major, her GPA is 3.97.

Dinh earned the College of Business鈥 Rising Star Award. She was secretary of the student chapter of the Institute of Management Accountants. Dinh has also been a member of Alpha Omicron Pi, the Symphonic Winds, the Pride of Acadiana Marching Band, the UL Wind Ensemble and the Vietnamese Student Organization.

She plans to work at an accounting firm. Additional possibilities include working in government as an auditor or forensic accountant and attending graduate school.  Her parents are Trang Dinh and Duc Dinh of Kaplan, La.

Gabrielle Housley is an Outstanding Graduate Finalist from the College of the Arts. A music major, she has a 3.86 GPA.

Housley has performed in numerous concerts as a featured soloist, and in many productions, including as the title character in 鈥淭he Mystery of Edwin Drood.鈥

She led the relaunch of the campus chapter of the National Association of Teachers of Singing. At NATS state conferences, Housley twice earned first place in classical singing and once earned first place in musical theater. She will pursue a master鈥檚 degree in vocal performance at the University of Denver鈥檚 Lamont School of Music.

John D. Landry Ill is an Outstanding Graduate Finalist from the College of Engineering. A mechanical engineering major, his GPA is 3.97.

Landry researched machine learning to guide alloy and polymer design for the college鈥檚 Undergraduate Research Apprenticeship Program. He built high-powered rockets as lead for the Intercollegiate Rocket Engineering Competition team and was a member of the Cajun Advanced Picosatellite Experience team.

Landry will work in the aerospace industry and pursue a doctorate or master's degree in aeroelastics for hypersonic applications. He is married to Lillian Darby Landry and is the father of Reece May Landry. His parents are Juanita Landry and John Landry Jr.

Gracie Ann Latiolais an Outstanding Graduate Finalist from the College of Nursing & Health Sciences. She is majoring in nursing. Her GPA is 3.72.

Latiolais served as a student representative for the college鈥檚 Nursing Program Evaluation Committee. She presented research about safe infant sleep practices at the Louisiana State Nurses Association鈥檚 leadership assembly.

Latiolais has volunteered with Aylee's Angels, assisting families coping with infant loss. She will work at Ochsner 老司机福利网 General Medical Center. Other plans include pursuing a graduate degree in nursing education. She is the daughter of Stephanie and Dana Latiolais of St. Martinville, La.

Moiz Fazal-ur-Rehman an Outstanding Graduate Finalist from the Ray P. Authement College of Sciences. A biology major, his GPA is 4.0.

He has researched subjects such as the molecular pathophysiology of bacterial urinary tract infections, protein structure analysis and in vivo bacterial analysis. 

Fazal-ur-Rehman coauthored a manuscript published in 鈥淭he Journal of Orthopedic Surgery and Research.鈥 He has presented his work at the Biology Undergraduate Research Conference, the University鈥檚 Research Symposium, and the College of Sciences鈥 Poster Presentation.

Fazal-ur-Rehman will attend medical school. He is the son of Dr. Syed Fazal-ur-Rehman and Huma Fazal-ur-Rehman of 老司机福利网.
