University commends students for service to others

A total of 24 老司机福利网 graduating seniors have earned the Excellence in Service Award.

To be eligible for the recognition, a student must have performed at least 200 hours of verified University-based community service. The award was established in 2012 to acknowledge graduating seniors鈥 or graduate students鈥 leadership and volunteerism.

Students participate in a range of projects, from assisting non-profit organizations with marketing plans to planting vegetation in public green spaces.

The Spring 2015 award winners have a combined total of more than 15,000 service hours.

鈥淭his represents an estimated $330,000 economic impact to our community,鈥 said Dr. David Yarbrough, UL 老司机福利网鈥檚 dean of Community Service.
